What is CR?

Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered recovery ministry for anyone struggling with life controlling hurts, hang-ups, and destructive habits, no matter how big or small.

Celebrate Recovery started in 1991 at Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California. It has since become a movement of the Lord that spans the globe, including six groups that meet, locally in the Oil Region of Northwestern Pennsylvania.

Our purpose is to fellowship together and support one another as we celebrate God’s healing power in our lives through the eight recovery principles found in the Bible and in the Christ-centered 12 steps of recovery. We call the collaboration of CR groups in northwestern PA, Celebrate Recovery of the Oil Region River (CR-ORR). Join us and find freedom from your hurts, hang-ups & habits.

TFO Farm owners, Mike & Deb Peterson are believers in Jesus. We are trusting God to guide us through recovery from hurts, hang-ups & habits. As fallen creatures, redeemed by Christ, we have submitted our life and wills to the care of God and we believe the 12-steps of recovery are the simple gospel in outline form.

LEARN ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

COST: FREE, if taking just the Life's Healing Choices DVD course without Equine-Assisted Learning (E.A.L.) add-on sessions.

E.A.L. (add-on) TUITION COST: $300 for all eight sessions, paid in advance by March 31, 2025. (If you prefer not to commit to all eight, one-hour sessions, you may opt to pay on the same day of the classes that you choose to attend at the tuition fee of $45 per class. Regular price = $80/session.) These discounted E.A.L. prices are available exclusively to students who are participating in the Life's Healing Choices spring program.

Connect with horses & Jesus to learn God's answers for everything from physical health issues, to your hurts, hangups & habits, in this 8-week course starting this Spring.

WHAT: This Bible study has an equine edge! Chances are you have never experienced a faith journey through the Scriptures quite like this! Each class is three (3) hours long which includes two, 1-1/2 hour sessions for eight weeks. One session is a group Bible study with Pastor Rick Warren, teaching biblical healing principles via DVD. The second session of each class is an equine-assisted learning (E.A.L.) opportunity with the TFO Farm herd of horses, facilitated by certified equine-assisted learning coach, Deb Peterson. PLEASE NOTE: Although highly recommended, the E.A.L. portion of this course is optional and is provided by Too Far Out Farm LLC and Equine-Assisted Recovery/Learning Coach, Debbie Peterson.

WHO: Adults, age 18+

WHERE: Too Far Out Farm LLC of Guys Mills, PA for the Equine-Assisted Learning (E.A.L.) part of the class AND at United Evangelical Free Church of Guys Mills, PA, for the Life's Healing Choices DVD teaching part.

WHEN: Classes begin in April. During the registration process, you will be asked to choose a time slot most convenient to you: Sunday's @ 1-4PM, Tuesday's @ 10AM-1PM or Wednesday's @ 6-9PM [SUNDAY'S CLASSES ARE FILLED. THERE ARE STILL A COUPLE OPENINGS IN THE TUESDAY & WEDNESDAY CLASSES.]

WHY: The Bible clearly states God’s answers to life’s hurts, hangups & habits. Let’s discover Jesus' way to good health, wholeness & happiness together, with the TFO Farm herd. Horses are intuitive, honest and able teachers. They aid our healing in surprising and meaningful ways!

TWO SESSIONS PER CLASS/8 CLASSES IN THE COURSE:

Classes are 3 hours long and will meet in two parts on each class day (short break between sessions):

Life's Healing Choices Bible study, 1-1/2 hour session
FoR-HiM Equine-Assisted Learning, 1-1/2 hour session

We will meet once a week, for eight weeks at Too Far Out Farm LLC, 29533 Borgardus Rd., Guys Mills, PA.

CLASSES START IN APRIL:

We are offering three class times for the Life's Healing Choices Equine-Assisted Learning course:

Sunday's at 1pm - 4pm, starting on April 6th (Meeting at the church first.) FILLED
Tuesday's at 10am - 1pm, starting on April 1st (Meeting at the farm first.)
Wednesday's at 6pm - 9pm, starting on April 2nd (Meeting at the farm first.)

On the online application that you submitted, you indicated your preferred classtime. We cannot guarantee that you will get the time slot of your choice, but we will do our best to accommodate your wishes.
